Early Scores Lead Lakeland Past Carbondale In Opener

Carbondale managed to hang around in the 1st half, but a strong physical second half by Lakeland helped the Chiefs pull away for a 40-18 win.

It looked early like Lakeland would run away with this one. On the first drive, the Chiefs moved the ball down the field and scored when quarterback David Naniewicz connected with freshman Luke McFarland for 29-yard touchdown pass and a 7-0 lead.
